Bio:

Elaine Aiken

Elaine Aiken was Founding Director of Actors Conservatory, a method acting school.  The Conservatory is dedicated to developing fine actors through sense memory techniques.  Elaine also acted as Artistic Director of Private in Public, a not-for-profit theatrical organization which provides scholarships for actors with advanced training to further develop their craft.

Ms. Aiken began training with Lee Strasberg in 1952 and was made a member of the Actors Studio in 1954.  After appearing on Broadway, on television, and in major motion pictures, Ms. Aiken returned to the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.  She founded Actors Conservatory in 1984.

Although Elaine is no longer with us, her influence is felt in everything Actors Conservatory teaches.  The Aiken-Strasberg Method continues Elaine's artistic achievements and is reflected in the craft of our students.
