Helen Hayes' Private in Public Letter:

Helen Hayes was active on the Private in Public board until her death in 1993.  Her extraordinary spirit of giving and guidance remains with us and gives us continuing courage to pursue our goals.

Allow me to introduce the Private in Public Theatre, a not-for-profit theatrical corporation on whose board I have served since 1988.

The theater has given me great joy, and I have always had a special fondness for encouraging young actors.  I have been given so much, know the difficulties young actors face, and know what an important contribution a good actor can make to our society.  Your financial contribution to this partial scholarship will help to develop the talent of future actors for decades to come.

At this time the Private in Public Theatre is planning a children's production that will tour the pediatrics wings of local hospitals.  This project delights my heart as I am very much involved with the Helen Hayes Hospital in Rockland.

It is my hope that you will be a sponsor of our company, lending your financial support for the development of young artists who will be the performers of tomorrow.
